:: House of Cards ::

Everyday we are metaphorically dealt a deck of cards, and how we play out cards impact our lives and lives of others around us. We are forced with the daily decisions of 'will I work out today?', 'will I put in the extra hour or 5 and get XYZ accomplished?' 'will I have dinner with my hubby tonight or schedule that meeting?' everything we do has a consequence, personally I just strive to make all of my "plays" a positive one.

Nick and I have been watching House of Cards on Netflix, I should rephrase that, Nick has been watching and I have been 1/2 watching, 1/2 researching, emailing, pinteresting, and cuddling with Matty. From the 1/2 that I have seen it is a show based around politics, and the plays the characters make, power plays, decisions, playing the decisions of others (mostly bad ones) against one another to influence their personal goals. The show got me to thinking, how while I believe in good fortune, I do not believe in luck; good, bad or indifferent. I believe in hard work, I believe in recognizing the good things in life and having the knowledge and mindset to change the bad. I believe in the fact that it's sometimes not as easy said then done but requires help and encouragement from the positive influences in your life whether it is your mother or your dry cleaner.

So much as to what is going on right now in my personal life, and of course Amy Champagne Events is largely contributed to the cards that I have been dealt, the plays I've made and the people that I am playing with, and it's all beyond words exciting and wonderful. Over the next few days, weeks and months I have so much to share with you all, some incredible announcements (no I am not pregnant), some amazing weddings ( > one month to wedding season!), and of course the usual awesomeness. If I could share a cheesy tip that has helped me continue to move forward despite the odds; remove the bad card out of your deck, of course you can't do that in Vegas, but you can in real life and that way that bad card could never derail any amazing plays you are making today.

Until next time, which will be sooner rather than later and that's all I'll say,
