RW: Erin + Ravi | The Roundhouse - Beacon, New York

Erin + Ravi’s wedding at Roundhouse in Beacon, New York, intertwined Western + Eastern cultures... Their photos, taken by Emma McDonald, are simply breathtaking.

By combining cultures, the morning portion consisted of the Baraat processional, with a Hindu ceremony – following with the Western ceremony in the evening.

Erin first wore a custom made traditional Indian dress. In Indian culture, the color red is symbolic of prosperity and fertility. For the Western ceremony, she wore a stunning traditional white dress.

Erin + Ravi had custom Henna created for them, by Coral Pheasant, which was used throughout their entire celebration. It was used on the paper goods, invitations, and was also projected on the wall during their reception, by Shindig Lighting.

Henna has been practiced for over 5,000 years in Asia and the Middle East. In the ancient world, it was believed to help cool the skin, given the hot climates. Today, Henna is a fashion trend known throughout the world as a way to beautify the hands + feet - most popularly used in Hindu weddings.
